MYCHIP Frequently Asked Questions...
Q. How do I locate a MYCHIP event in my area?
A. Go to the "Calendar" section of the MYCHIP Web site. A list of events will appear for the current month. If you do not see an event in your area, use the blue arrows to direct your search to future months. When you locate an event in your area, click on the "city" to get the event details.
Q. How much does it cost to have my child identified?
A. Absolutely Nothing. MYCHIP is a FREE service provided by the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts and supported by Massachusetts Freemason.
Q. How long does it take to have my child identified?
A. Generally the process takes 15 minutes.
Q. Are "microchips" implanted into my child?
A. Absolutely NOT! MYCHIP does not use microchips or any other invasive procedures. Please refer to the "Home" section of our Web site to learn how MYCHIP works.
Q. How safe is my personal information?
A. Completely safe! The MYCHIP program retains nothing except a signed permission slip. With our new digital equipment, digital photos, video, and fingerprints are written to a computer disk which is given to the Parent or Guardian. At the conclusion of identifying each child, the information is automatically erased. Upon shutdown, the computers perform a secondary purge to ensure all information is removed.
Q. Can I leave my child at the MYCHIP event and come back to pick him/her up later?
A. No. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and remain with the child(ren) throughout the MYCHIP process.
Q. Can I hold a MYCHIP event at my church or school?
A. Absolutely. Complete the 'Event Request' form and a MyCHIP Area Chairman will contact you to coordinate the event. MyCHIP requires a minimum of three months advanced notice for school events, to ensure we can properly schedule equipment, volunteers, police and dental assistance, obtain School Administration approval, and publicize the event.
Q. Can I hold an event outdoors?
A. Unfortunately no. Due to the sensitivity of our equipment, we are only able to conduct MYCHIP events in indoor locations.

Q. Can I volunteer at MYCHIP events?
A. Absolutely. Please go to our "Contact" page and let us know.
Q. Can I request a Shrine Clown at a MYCHIP event?
A. Yes, you must write a letter requesting one 60 days in advance. Your letter should be addressed to: Potentate, Shriner's Auditorium, P.O. Box 1008, Wilmington, MA 01887-0578
Q. Can I make a donation to MYCHIP?
A.MYCHIP is solely sponsored by the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts and it's members and as such, we do not accept private donations.
